Whitefish Winter Carnival – February 2 – 4th

Penguin Plunge February 3rd at 11:00am
Whitefish Lake – City Beach – 70 Lakeside Blvd, Whitefish MT
Make your splash for charity by taking the chilly plunge for Special Olympics Montana. You can form a team (who is vacationing with you), to jump in as an individual. Registration starts at 9:30am. Click HERE to learn more.
Whitefish Winter Carnival parade – February 3RD at 3:00PM
Downtown Whitefish
The culmination of our great annual winter celebration ends with this special family parade in downtown Whitefish. Come see funny characters and floats and find your reason why you love Whitefish and winter so much that you’ll be back again next year! (P.S. We give discounts to our repeat guests!)

Whitefish Ski Resort – 3905 Big Mountain Rd, Whitefish, MT
When you stay at one of our Gelande properties you are close to the action of this ski mountaineering race. Competitors will skin up the mountain then ski to the next stop. 4 courses to watch that cater to abilities. Come enter or watch the competition. Click HERE for more information.
Presidents weekend torchlight parade & fireworks – February 17th – 7:00pm
Whitefish Ski Resort – 3905 Big Mountain Rd, Whitefish, MT
Come join us for the truly special evening event that is music to your eyes. Viewers can assemble near Ed & Mully’s Restaurant at the bottom of Ed’s Run. Have your camera ready to record or just leave it in your pocket so you can relish in the events (recommended for full enjoyment). Here are a few other recommended activities
running throughout winter to enjoy
Spend the day in Glacier National Park for a day of snowshoeing or cross-country skiing. The park is so quiet and beautiful during the winter months, especially after a soft blanket of snow.
Many downtown outfitters or Sportsman & Ski Haus will rent all the equipment you need to enjoy a day in the park.

If you’ve never tried snowmobiling, visit our friends and our go-to place at Northwest Montana Adventure in Olney. They’ll have the Gear you need to stay warm and cozy and enjoy hot cocoa at the top of your destination in a yurt with a view.
